In 1977, Imam Mohammed toured China with the group American and Chinese Friends.

In 1988, He represented Muslims at the World Parliament of Religious Leaders for the "Survival of the Earth and Its Environment." Later that year he was selected to represent American Muslims in the symbolic signing of the First Amendment Charter for Religious Freedom in Williamsburg, Virginia.

In 1990, following the invasion of Kuwait, at the Invitation of King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, Imam Mohammed and a delegation traveled to Saudi Arabia in a consultative role discussing concerns over the Gulf War.

On February 5, 1992, he had a tour of the Pentagon and addressed officials, Muslim Chaplains and other Military personnel.

On February 6, 1992 Imam W. Deen Mohammed became the first Islamic representative to deliver an invocation on the floor of the United States Senate.

In March 1992, in Georgia, the state of his father's birth, he delivered to a standing ovation of elected officials, the first address by a Muslim leader on the floor of the Georgia State Legislature.
